Democratic primary voters, especially in Champaign County, should see in the mail and on digital platforms that Nikki Budzinski is taking on the lawlessness of Trump’s ICE that is making us less safe.
Voters should hear that Budzinski is holding ICE accountable and is voting to end their mass raids and cruelty. Budzinski has been a strong voice and:
- Is demanding ICE have a warrant to detain someone or search their home
- Supports a law to ban ICE from wearing masks to conceal their identity
- Became one of the first to sign on to articles of impeachment for Kristi Noem
- Is pushing for a law with real accountability for ICE agents that act illegally, with independent criminal prosecutions for them
- Will ban ICE from conducting mass, broad raids and from going after people in churches, schools, and hospitals
- Voted no on any additional funding for ICE until these reforms are agreed upon by Congressional Republicans
