“Regan has never had to balance a budget. She is an ultra-wealthy heiress that has no idea what real people in Central and Southern Illinois need.”
Springfield, IL – IL13 Republican Regan Deering advocates for tax breaks – for herself. Deering, who is worth up to $142 million dollars and inherited tens of millions of dollars from her family, has supported tax cuts passed by Donald Trump that would only benefit the ultra-wealthy 1%, like herself.
Economic inequality is already a big problem in the United States, with some estimates that “income for middle-class Americans is projected to grow at less than half the rate as for the richest 1%”, like Regan Deering.
Nikki Budzinski made the following statement: “Regan has never had to balance a budget. She is an ultra-wealthy heiress that has no idea what real people in Central and Southern Illinois are struggling with on a daily basis.”
“It’s not surprising that she supports tax cuts for her ultra-wealthy family. In Congress, I would support middle class tax cuts like the child tax credit that will help working families get ahead. We can’t afford people like Regan who will only advocate for their own bottom line.”
Nikki Budzinski is a labor activist, former Chief of Staff at the Office of Management and Budget in the Biden Administration and Senior Advisor to Governor JB Pritzker. Born in Peoria, Illinois, she’s the granddaughter of a union painter and public-school teachers. Nikki has over ten years’ experience in the labor movement, working for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and International Association of Fire Fighters.
