Springfield, IL – This morning, Nikki Budzinski, candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District, called on President Joe Biden not to ease trade tariffs on China. The Wall Street Journal has reported that Biden is considering lifting the trade tariffs on Chinese imports soon.
Budzinski made the following statement: “We shouldn’t make it even easier for companies to ship American jobs to China, but that’s exactly what this policy will do. Instead, we must pass the bipartisan Senate bill to bring vital manufacturing back to the United States – not reward China for bad behavior and continuing to ship jobs overseas.”
“Democrats and Republicans have been exporting American manufacturing to China for 50 years, and it needs to stop. We need to pass the bipartisan bill to support U.S, manufacturing, to invest in microchip manufacturing and start building things in America again.”
